Pittsburgh Trip Itenerary

We are doing this weekend trip a little different than other camping trips since we will be traveling to different venues rather than staying in one location.  We will be stopping at restaurants for Lunch and Dinner on Saturday rather than cooking in camp.

Rather than collecting money in advance, each scout will be responsible for bringing enough money with them to purchase their own meals and pay the admission to the one venue that will have an admission charge. Luckily most of the venue admissions will be covered by already established memberships.

It is estimated that each scout will need about $32 to cover their costs of meals and admission.

Each scout will need to bring a signed permission slip with them.  The permission slip for this event can be download from:

Pittsburgh History Weekend – November 11 & 12, 2017

This weekend we have the opportunity to explore some of the historic sites around Pittsburgh. We will meet at Hills church at 9 am on Saturday and travel to Pittsburgh.  The sites have not yet been finalized.  We will do this at this weeks meeting where we will do the normal camping trip preparation.

Some of the sites we could go see are:

  • Carnegie Natural History Art Museums
  • Soilders and Sailors Memorial Hall
  • The Fort Pitt Museum & Block House
  • Point Park
  • The Heinz History Museum
  • The Carnegie Science Center
  • Ride one of the Inclines
  • Phibbs Conservatory
  • Nationality Rooms at the Cathedral of Learning
  • Heinz Chapel
  • Carnegie Science Center

If there is a site you are interested in seeing this weekend that is not on the list, please bring that information to the meeting.

Once we know where we will be going we can calculate the cost of the trip.

We will be spending Saturday night at Camp Guyasuta, and returning to Hills Church at 10:00 am Sunday morning.
