Scout Knob Property Meeting – Wednesday, May 10, 2017 @ 7pm

The next Scouting Knob Property meeting is scheduled from 7:00 pm until 8:30 pm at Scout Knob on Wednesday, May 10, 2017.

It has been requested that each Scouting Unit in the area have both an adult and youth attend the meeting to assist in the planning and communication, but more are welcome.

Some the upcoming projects to be discussed are:

  • Paint trial markers
  • Trail maintenance
  • Roadside litter crew
  • Entrance drainpipe needs some work
  • Staircase at the wetlands entrance
  • Clean up parking lot connector trial
  • New trail
  • Work in both established campsites
  • Current access road drainage
  • Access road #2

Additional project ideas may be proposed as well.  The next work day/weekend is scheduled for June 17th/18th.

Summer Camp Balance Due and Summer Trip Deposit – Tuesday, May 2nd, 2017

When:               Tuesday, May 2, 2017

How much:        $285 – summer camp balance
$50   – summer trip deposit per person

For those Scouts who are going to Summer Camp this year, the balance is due at our next Troop meeting, Tuesday, May 2, 2017.  The cost for summer camp is $335.  If you paid the $50 deposit in March, the balance should be $285.

So we can begin to make reservations and purchase attraction tickets where necessary, we are asking that a non-refundable deposit of $50 per person be paid for everyone that is interested in attending our summer trip to Virginia.

The summer trip will be July 20 thru 23, 2017.  At this time the cost is estimated at $310 per person.  The hope would be able to reduce this cost if we can purchase at group rates.  We can not do that until we have a count of people who will be attending.

The summer trip is open to all Troop 213 scouts family members, and local Webelos.

The balance for summer camp and the deposit for the summer trip can be paid out of a scout’s account if sufficient funds are available.

Tuesday, April 25, 2017 – Troop Meeting – Recruiting and Relay for Life Planning

When:     Tuesday, April 25, 2017 @ 7:00 pm

Where:    Hills Church

At tonight’s meeting, we will be discussing ideas on how to recruit new Scouts, and to do some additional planning for Relay for Life.

For Relay for Life we need to:

  • finalize activities for our Hoss’s night to help us raise the $500 necessary for the event
  • assign tasks and responsibilities for Hoss’s night
    • materials necessary and procurement
    • advertising
  • determine what activity we will run at Relay for Life, and plan what will need to be done to make it happen

We will be meeting will be at Hills Church at 7 pm, and scouts will be dismissed from there at  8:30 pm.

Remember to wear your uniforms and handbooks.
